Aaron's Field Day

So October 10, 2011, Aaron had his field day at school, and I was amazed at how it was organized and assumed it was not going to work with the amount of kids that were attending. They just let the kids go to any station of their choosing, no time limit, no whistles, just fun and play.

They had every game imaginable. I really thought at the beginning what a mess it was gonna be just to let them run freely, but with all the parents and teachers involvement, it was a huge success.

Of course, over did it with pictures, but hey, I have the memories now.

Blog Number 2

Well, here is another blog, just to show that I am making an effort to keep up with this new site. Any suggestions or request can be submitted and I will be happy to attempt to do it.

I really have nothing special to report lately...The boys have been being just that, Boys. Our visit with Trevor was so short, but we tried to make worth his while, while being here. We explored the Washington Zoo, and was pretty disappointed. The big boys, James, Trevor and Aaron, went to the Library of Congress, and I think they enjoyed it. Tried to do our exercise routine while Trevor was here, but that kinda was held on the back burner. We enjoyed having him here and cannot wait til the next visit. Love you so much Trevor James, you are missed by all of us.

New Blog

Family n stuff, is my new blog about just that, Family and Stuff...Thanks, Momma Sue for your help with the name for this blog. I hope to keep up with this blog, better than I did with Tacteam. I am excited to update on all the Family and Stuff happening around the McDaniels' homestead.

Lessons Learned!

This section will consist of lessons that I have learned throughout the week, that might be trivial to y'all, but are really important for me to keep in mind when doing my mindless activities.
1. When you use your dishwasher as a drying rack, and its time to run it through to get rid of the standing water, DO NOT, and I REPEAT DO NOT use Pinesol as a cleanser for this project.
2. If you are wanting to change your routine, and try to arrange your schedule to wake up earlier, do not try to do this two days before Daylight Savings...SMH, not even worth it.
3. Our family was invited to a get-together for sushi, in which I made a strawberry cheesecake to take. Well, I thought I was being smart and put the strawberry topping on the cheesecake before leaving the house, just so I wouldn’t have to tote two items to this party. So moral is tote that second bowl filled with the topping so you will not have strawberry juices leak all over the floor, car, shoes, shirt, hands, etc.
4. Throwing away toys, when a child can remember that he gave it to you specifically to “fix”, can be damaging to the wallet. Throw away toys when they know nothing about it, at least that way you have the element of deniability on your side.
5. When making coleslaw...always and I mean always measure the salt input...cabbage and salt, not a very tasty, satisfying combination. Add extra salt to fries, pretzels, or even some sort of meat, just not cabbage. SALT, always measure it!!!!!
6. I usually mow the lawn for the family, since its a small yard and doesn't take long to do, but I have put weed eater fluid in the lawn mower and tore up the engine to one mower, this is the second time i have ran over the extension cord while trying to mow, it is so obvious that I am not meant to mow. So I have gone to Lowe's and bought two more extension cords, but for some odd reason my husband will not let me mow the lawn anymore....so i guess my lesson learned this week, is I have learned to get out of work, cost my husband money, and therefore his only option, mow the lawn himself.
